Heather completed the 3-day yesterday and is home resting today. Her right foot’s torn up really bad so she’ll be recovering for a few weeks. The asthma attacks that were getting her during the training leading up to the walk turned into a non-issue but she killed her foot the first night. Logan, Audrey, Lori and I went to go see her at lunch the second day and she was hobbling around so bad she couldn’t make the full day’s walk.

I’m so proud of her though; even with her foot torn up, she made a lot of miles that day. The third day her foot was even worse but she pounded out the entire fifteen miles and walked herself into the stadium for the finishing ceremonies.

Now she’s got to concentrate on getting that foot healed up. Won’t go into gory details, but I’m expecting that she’ll end up at a podiatrist in the next few days. I’d be really surprised if the damage she did will heal up on it’s own.
